Through our BRGs and local offices, Invesco celebrated D&I milestones and events throughout 2021.

January 22

Lunar New Year

Invesco’s Pan-Asian Professionals Network recognized the contributions of our Asian colleagues and celebrated Lunar New Year. The theme centered on professional development and challenges Asians may face when advancing in their careers. IPAN’s advisors shared their own stories on advancement and provided advice on how to overcome obstacles.

Black History Month

The goal for Invesco’s Black Professionals Network during Black History Month was to provide thought-provoking content through eight events. From a speaker series highlighting career progression to informative sessions highlighting inclusion, the network reiterated the value that diverse talent brings to our firm and the communities we serve.

March 8

International Women’s Day

In celebration of International Women’s Day, themed #ChooseToChallenge, the Invesco Women’s Network (IWN) invited women from across Invesco to share their thoughts on the importance of celebrating women’s achievements and speaking up against gender bias and inequity. Understanding the importance of work-life balance, IWN held an event with Harriet Minter, journalist, author and life coach. Harriet discussed “Working from Home vs. Living at Home” during COVID-19.

May 1 - May 31

Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Invesco’s Pan-Asian Professionals Network (IPAN) kicked off Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with several programs and the theme #TogetherWeRise. The month started with Tea & Conversation with IPAN’s executive sponsor, Mark Giuliano who shared what allyship means to him. There was a celebration of culture with a cook-a-long where guest chefs were able to cook rich Asian-inspired dishes in front of a live audience. Lastly, IPAN hosted a speed networking session and interactive workshop on how to “grow your career.”

June 1 - June 30

Pride Month

The Invesco Proud Network hosted events throughout Pride Month with a goal to foster a continued sense of inclusion to ensure LGBTQ+ colleagues feel personally supported and poised for professional growth. These events included a fireside chat to discuss the importance of representation in asset management as well as an Alan Turing book presentation and discussion.

June 19

Juneteenth

On Juneteenth, a paid holiday at Invesco, the Invesco Black Professionals Network (IBPN) partnered with Invesco Cares to provide meals to Ronald McDonald House locations in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston and New York. Several of the meals were provided by Black-owned catering businesses. IBPN also encouraged employees to purchase books through local Black-owned independent bookstores.

September 15 - October 15

Hispanic Heritage Month

With the launch of ¡HOLA! (Hispanic or Latino Association) in North America, Invesco celebrated its first Hispanic Heritage Month through three events: a keynote by Jessica Mendoza, advisory board member to Invesco QQQ How Not To Suck At Money; a conversation with Mi Sueño winery to shift perceptions of Latino-owned businesses; and a fireside chat between Marty Flanagan and Congressman Pete Aguilar, the most senior Latino in Congress.
