Scott West, Head of Invesco Consulting
Scott West is Head of Invesco Consulting, overseeing the largest consulting division of its kind in the asset management industry. In this position, he works with and presents to financial professionals across North America.
Scott is a sought-after keynote speaker who brings nearly 30 years of industry experience coupled with a creativity that seeks to both educate and entertain. He is a coauthor of five books, including StorySelling for Financial Advisors: How Top Producers Sell*, which was named a "must read" by financial planning.com, and, most recently, Defining Conversations.**
Prior to joining Invesco in 2010, Scott was with Van Kampen Investments, where he cofounded VK Consulting (now known as Invesco Consulting). In his 25+ years with the firm, he advanced from field sales to regional sales and finally to national sales positions. In addition, he served as Director of Marketing. Prior to his career in financial services, Scott worked in sales distribution with Procter & Gamble. Scott holds a B.A. in economics and communications from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.
Born and raised in Toronto, Scott is an avid hockey enthusiast. He assumes full credit for his Texas-born wife's newfound love of the sport. Scott is the father of four children and resides in Wheaton, Illinois.

Gary DeMoss, Director, Invesco Consulting
Gary DeMoss is a Director with Invesco Consulting. His knowledge of financial services, built on more than 30 years of industry experience, along with his engaging style, have made him a widely sought-after keynote speaker.
Among Gary's top speaking experiences was his selection from an elite pool to be one of the four "Main Platform" presenters at the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table, where he spoke to an audience of more than 12,000 financial professionals.
Throughout his career, Gary has served in a variety of positions and provided leadership and strategic direction as National Sales Director and National Marketing Director with Van Kampen Investments. In 1998, he cofounded VK Consulting (now known as Invesco Consulting) to support financial advisors seeking to build their affluent client base.
Prior to his 30+ year career in financial services, Gary worked in sales management with Procter & Gamble. He holds a degree in business from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Gary is married with six children and lives in St. Charles, Illinois. He is actively involved in his children's sports activities, which range from women's soccer to football. In whatever time is left over, he enjoys boating, skiing and most other outdoor sports.
Brett Van Bortel, Director, Consulting Services, Invesco Consulting
Brett is a Director with Invesco Consulting and has developed and delivered numerous programs designed to increase the profitability, effectiveness and productivity of financial advisors. His focus is on client acquisition, retention and business expansion. Brett's programs include "RainMaker," "Wealth Mapping," "The 9 Lives of the Affluent" and "Preferrals." Brett has developed a strategic partnership with Prince & Associates with the goal of identifying and solving challenges of critical strategic importance for advisors.
Brett has cowritten five books on these topics, coaches numerous top-producing teams, frequently speaks at industry conferences and has a is a regular contributor to Financial Advisor magazine. He holds a B.A. from the University of Iowa and was a Writer's Workshop participant. Brett enjoys skiing, mountain biking and coaching his kids' sports teams.
Lisa Kueng, Director, Creative Campaigns, Invesco Consulting
She is a national speaker and the developer of many of the firm's practice-building programs, including "Your Prosperity Picture," "The New Retirementality" and "T.E.A.M Dynamics."
Lisa is also trained as an improv actor and writes comedy sketches for Invesco-hosted meetings. She has been working in the financial services industry since 1998, and spent 10 years in advertising agency account management.
Lisa holds a B.S. in journalism with a concentration in speech communications from the University of Illinois and earned her Registered Corporate Coach designation in 2004. She is currently a member of the Women's Bond Club, a volunteer for One Million Degrees and a regular guest speaker at Loyola University in Chicago.
Maura Scherer, Director, Creative Campaigns, Invesco Consulting
Maura spearheads the company's practice-management programs.
Maura oversees the "Negotiations" and "Brand U" advisor programs, regularly presenting at regional and national conferences on a wide range of topics, including retirement issues, branding and effective business management. She also consults with advisory teams across the country on branding their practices.
Prior to joining Invesco in 2010, Maura worked for Van Kampen Investments, where she spent 13 years as a member of VK Consulting, the predecessor to Invesco Consulting. She holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from Michigan State University. Maura is married with a son, Ryan. In her spare time, she works with a local adoption agency, advocating rights for couples who are planning to adopt children.
Tom Rowley, Director, Retirement Business Strategy, Inveco Consulting
Tom seeks to explain the complexities of legislative, investing, tax and social issues with straightforward clarity with the goal of helping financial advisors and investors maximize opportunities.

Rob holds an honors B.A. (kinesiology and business) from the University of Western Ontario. He lives in Oakville, Ontario, where he actively embraces a balanced lifestyle of fitness, family and friendships.
Dave Saylor, Director, Consulting Campaigns, Invesco Consulting
David is a Director with Invesco Consulting, specializing in program development, presentation creation, and development of I•C 2.0 and I•C Digital.

Jim Morel serves as Director of Training Services for Invesco Consulting.* Jim is also founder and CEO of JAM Consulting Group, Inc., a sales and management consulting firm.
Jim has worked to help re-energize multiple sales teams and has engineered and directed global distribution strategies, portfolio management and corporate trading desks. He is one of the authors of the books Coaching the Sale** and The Top Performers Guide to Speeches and Presentations***, which describe the science and art of more-effective client interactions.
Jim has 30+ years of financial sales experience. His experience and sales approach have made him a nationally known speaker and executive coach.
Jim earned his BS and MS degrees from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Jon draws on extensive pension experience to offer retirement thought leadership for Invesco. Prior to joining Invesco in 2008, Jon spent more than 25 years in the research, writing, compliance and underwriting areas of the retirement services industry. Jon has earned the Fellow, Life Management Institute and the Competent Toastmaster designations.
He has a B.A. in history from Rutgers University. Jon lives with his wife and son in New Jersey.
