Will the Supreme Court's Janus decision transform state pension plans?

The Supreme Court recently ruled that public sector unions may no longer compel nonmembers to pay agency fees. It may be reasonable to expect the Janus v. American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) decision to drain union coffers and accelerate the shift from DB to DC plans - but we don't believe the outcome will be that simple.
