Starting with the foundation of the Nasdaq-100 index, companies who are involved in non-ESG activities, such as tobacco or controversial weapons, are excluded. Additional ESG exclusions include non-compliant with UN Global Compact principles, with a controversy level higher than 4 (out of 5) and with a Sustainalytics ESG Risk Rating Score higher than 40 or companies not rated by Sustainalytics. Company weights are then tilted toward companies with more attractive ESG scores.
The result is the Nasdaq-100 ESG Index which our Invesco Nasdaq-100 ESG UCITS ETF tracks, an ETF for the ESG investor.
