Bernie Collins is a respected Formula One strategist and broadcaster. She began her journey in motorsport after completing a Master of Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast, where she first discovered her passion for racing through the Formula Student programme. This led her to McLaren’s graduate trainee scheme, where she rotated across departments before settling into a role as Design Engineer.

Her career quickly accelerated as she moved into performance engineering, working trackside to support race operations and driver performance. Bernie then joined Sahara Force India, where she transitioned into strategy – a move that would define the next chapter of her career. Over the following years, she rose through the ranks at Force India, Racing Point and Aston Martin, ultimately becoming Head of Race Strategy, responsible for leading race-day decisions and maximising team results.

Today, Bernie brings her expertise to a wider audience as part of the Sky Sports F1 presenting team and a contributor to F1’s official digital channels.
